Tottenham’s appeal against the red card shown to Younes Kaboul has been successful, the Football Association have confirmed.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong>The central defender’s one-match suspension, which would have seen him miss the north London derby with Arsenal, has now been overturned.<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old was shown a red card by referee Michael Oliver for a foul on Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o, which led to a penalty, from which Eden Hazard scored the second of the Blues’ four goals.<\/p>\n

It was just one of many negatives during what was a woeful and error-strewn display from the Spurs players, who were publicly criticised afterwards by manager Tim Sherwood.<\/p>\n

However, the overturning of Kaboul’s dismissal, following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing on Tuesday, will be a boost for Sherwood, who would have been short of defensive cover for the game with Arsenal at White Hart Lane without the Frenchman.<\/p>\n

Spurs are currently without Vlad Chiriches, who is sidelined with a back injury, while fellow centre-back Michael Dawson was forced off in the game at Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
