The Proprietor of newly promoted Nigeria Premier League side Giwa\u00a0Football Club, Chris Giwa said the target of the club is to win this
\nseason’s league title.<\/p>\n
Giwa made this known at a reception held \u00a0in Jos \u00a0for players and club\u00a0officials of the club for securing promotion to the premier league.
\n“As we start our campaign against Kano Pillars next weekend,\u00a0I can tell you that by God’s grace we will come out victorious and our
\ntarget this season is to win the league.<\/p>\n
“Our performance in the NNL super 4 which we won clearly shows that we\u00a0are truly the best team and it further confirms that our winning the\u00a0league was no fluke.” Giwa said.
\nAccording to the Proprietor, \u00a0Giwa FC’s promotion ticket to the\u00a0Premier League is not for the club alone, but the club’s teeming
\nsupporters and the people of Plateau State.<\/p>\n
In his speech, the Director General, National Sports Commission, Gbenga\u00a0Elegbeleye, said Giwa FC is contributing to the economic development of\u00a0the country by engaging youths in positive ventures.<\/p>\n
Elegbeleye urged the players to work to remain in the premiership, saying the Nigerian top division\u00a0is a different ball game.<\/p>\n
The Director General who was represented by secretary of the commission,\u00a0Dr. Bolaji Ojooba, added that the burden of running a football club\u00a0should not be left for the owner alone.<\/p>\n
