Newcastle accepted Paris Saint-Germain\u2019s \u00a323million bid for France midfielder Yohan Cabaye, three days after rejecting\u00a0initial offer of \u00a314m.<\/p>\n
However, a delegation from the Ligue 1 giants were in the North East with an increased offer that owner Mike Ashley couldn\u2019t turn down.<\/p>\n
Cabaye, 28, who went on strike during August when Newcastle turned down a bid from Arsenal, wants his future resolved before the transfer window closes on Friday.<\/p>\n
Newcastle face rivals Sunderland on Saturday and manager Alan Pardew said: \u2018The timing is very unfortunate. It was the same at the start of the season. The\u00a0 biggest concern for me is losing the player and the second biggest concern is that I have the derby on Saturday.\u2019’<\/p>\n
Cabaye will be a huge loss to Pardew having scored five goals from midfield in Newcastle\u2019s last seven Premier League games.<\/p>\n
He was a bargain at \u00a34.3m when he moved to Tyneside from Lille in June 2011 after helping them win the French League and Cup double.<\/p>\n
However, Pardew is close to finalising a deal with Borussia Monchengladbach which would see strikers Papiss Cisse and Luuk de Jong switch clubs.<\/p>\n
