”Yaya Could Leave City If He’s Not Respected. Toure’s Agent
- Updated: May 21, 2014

Yaya Toure’s agent has warned Manchester City they could face losing the midfielder if they don’t show him more respect.
The Premier League champions are in Qatar to continue their title celebrations, but their fans will have been shocked as news of Toure’s anger over a perceived lack of respect from the club’s staff was revealed late on Monday night.
Toure will give an interview after the World Cup to explain comments from his agent that suggest he’s considering his future at Manchester City.
The 31-year-old Ivory Coast international is upset with staff, not the players at the Etihad, who forgot his birthday on May 13, with his agent telling saying that the midfielder had still to receive an apology or explanation from the club and also suggested that there were longer term issues to sort out.
When asked if Toure would still be at City after the World Cup, agent Dimitri Seluk said: “I don’t know. Yaya will speak personally to staff and after that we will make a decision.
Toure himself said “everything is open” regarding his future, despite City insisting that he is not for sale and that they will not renegotiate his £250,000-a-week contract, which still has three years to run.
However, defiant Manchester City insist they will block any attempt by the Ivory Coast international to force through a move this summer.
City say they feel under no pressure to respond to the claims of Toure or his agent, with senior figures at the club insisting the club will not be pressured into letting the former Barcelona midfielder leave.
The club refused to buckle when their former striker Carlos Tevez tried to push through a move and eventually allowed him to leave on their terms, and they will take the same stance in Toure’s case.
Toure has repeatedly said he wants to finish his career at Barcelona – the club he left City for in 2010 – and reiterated that stance in light of his agent’s claims that the 23-goal hero of the title-winning season is disillusioned and wants out.
