Villa Player Andi Weimann Promises To Do Liverpool A Favour
- Updated: May 7, 2014

Andreas Weimann says Aston Villa be ‘fearless’ when they head to the Etihad on Wednesday to do Liverpool a favour in their tittle ambition.
The Aston Villa striker is looking for a repeat of his heroics against Manchester City back in September.
Weimann scored the stunning late winner in Villa’s 3-2 smash and grab win over Manuel Pellegrini’s men.
And Weimann insists there’s no pressure on Villa after his double helped clinch safety with the weekend win over Hull. He said: “We have put some brilliant performances in against a few of the top teams and got some great wins, but we have lost when we thought we shouldn’t have.
“It hasn’t been easy but Saturday’s win was important. We’ll definitely go there and we can play with freedom because we’re safe.
“We won’t go there and give in. We have beaten them once so we’ll see what we can do away.”
City keeper Joe Hart must still have nightmares at the thought of being caught outside his box as Weimann slipped the ball past him.
Weimann adds: “It was outside the box and once he was out there, there wasn’t much he could do because if he came with his hands he would have been off.”
Villa boss Paul Lambert saw his side end a six-match streak without a win and says there’s suddenly a different feel about the palce.
Lambert said: “We go to City in a better state for that. We can go there with the shackles off.
“But whatever team City put out, they have loads of world class players and that’s what you are up against.”
