Van Gaal Slammed for United Loss
- Updated: August 17, 2014

Manchester United boss Louis Van Gaal has been slamed for his training methods.
Former Wales assistant boss Raymond Verheijen criticized Van Gaal for working his players too hard in training and not giving them enough rest between sessions.
Verheijen listed a series of Netherlands players who suffered with injury during the World Cup, and claimed the reason was the intensive double training sessions put on by the veteran coach.
However, despite not agreeing with some of his coaching methods, Verheijen tweeted support of United’s decision to employ Van Gaal.
In a series of tweets, Verheijen praised his countryman’s tactics and claimed United had made a ‘great appointment’.
Van Gaal has been brought in by United after their disasterous 2013-14 campaign under David Moyes.
The ex-Ajax, Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss has already set about revamping the Old Trafford dressing room by splashing out £27m on Luke Shaw and £29m on Ander Herrera.
