Van Gaal Plans 48 Hours Radical Change, as UTD Hope to Sign 11 Players in Two Days
- Updated: August 31, 2014

Shortly after their 0-0 draw with Burnley, Manchester United geared up for a busy 48 hours of transfer business involving up to eleven players.
United are waiting for AC Milan to give midfielder De Jong the green light to fly to Manchester Sunday to complete a £10million deal.
The former champions are also close to finalising the £16m signing of versatile defender Blind from Ajax.
United confirmed on Saturday that a deal had been agreed with Ajax for Blind, subject to a medical and personal terms being agreed.
The Red Devils have also been in talks with Juventus and Sporting Lisbon, respectively, about midfielders Arturo Vidal and William Carvalho – in case the De Jong deal stalls.
However, more players, including midfielder Tom Cleverley, who is being linked with Aston Villa are on their ways out of Old Trafford.
Shinji Kagawa could return to Borussia Dortmund for £8m and striker Danny Welbeck is in demand with a host of clubs.
There could also be United exit business involving striker Javier Hernandez, midfielders Anderson and Marouane Fellaini and goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard.
Not all these deals will be completed before the transfer window closes at 11pm on Monday.
But United’s in-and-out transfer negotiations illustrate the extent of the revolution launched by new boss Louis van Gaal.
