Super Eagles Manager Says ”There’s No Sentiment In My List”
- Updated: June 4, 2014

Super Eagles Coach, Stephen Keshi has dismissed talks of sentiment in his final selection of 23 players he named to represent Nigeria at the World Cup in Brazil.
Keshi, who admitted that the decision was a very tough one argued that his judgment was purely professional and in the overall interest of the nation.
“This was a very tough decision to make. I wish I could have taken all 30 of them to the World Cup,” Keshi said.
“They have been with us all this time and come this far and I think it’s unfortunate that not everyone can make it.
“But we had to do what we had to do, and we had to do it without any sentiment. I have told them to be strong and to work harder.”
CHAN Most Valuable Player, Ejike Uzoenyi was one of the most shocking absentees on Keshi’s list as well as Nation’s Cup hero, Sunday Mba, who reported late to camp due to traveling difficulties. Others are former West Ham United striker Obinna Nsofor, Nosa Igiebor, Joel Obi and Nnamdi Oduamadi.
