Sunderland Shock Defeat Lands Mourinho, Faria & Ramirez In FA Trouble
- Updated: April 24, 2014

Mourinho, who is currently contesting an £8000 fine for entering the field against Aston Villa last month, as well as coach Rui Faria and Ramires were hit with FA raps Wednesday night.
The football governing body took exception to his sarcastic praise of referee Mike Dean and referees chief Mike Riley.
And the Blues boss is accused of questioning the integrity of the duo and/or bringing the game into disrepute.
It is Mourinho’s third FA charge of the season after he was also fined £8000 for being sent to the stands against Cardiff in October.
Faria could be in even bigger trouble and is facing two charges after he had to be restrained while trying to confront Dean.
Faria has been charged with using insulting/abusive language to the fourth official and with misconduct for his furious confrontation with Dean moments after he awarded Sunderland a penalty.
Due to the aggressive and threatening nature of his reaction Faria’s case is viewed as a “non-standard” one by the FA – like Newcastle boss Alan Pardew’s headbutt incident at Hull.
Midfielder Ramires was charged with violent conduct for an off-the-ball clash with Sunderland midfielder Seb Larsson.
If found guilty he will miss four games and the rest of the season as the Larsson clash will effectively be his second red card of the season.
Chelsea were last night considering their response. Mourinho and Faria have until next Monday to answer their charges. Ramires must decide whether to accept or challenge his by 6pm Thursday.
Clubs are no longer punished for naming weakened sides as long as they use players named in the 25-man squad.
The league’s clubs voted to change the rule in 2011 after Blackpool and Wolves were controversially punished. Chelsea could still be in trouble if Mourinho picks a team filled with players from his list of Under 21s and the Premier League feel the integrity of the competition has been damaged.
