Spanish Giants Vow to Fight Transfer Ban, Take FIFA to CAS
- Updated: August 21, 2014

Barcelona will go all the way to the Court of Arbitration for Sport after having a transfer embargo upheld by FIFA.
The Catalan giants had tried to overturn a two-window ban which was handed down in April because of concerns about the international transfer of young players.
The embargo had been put on hold due to an appeal, which allowed Barcelona to buy five players for over £110m this summer – including Luis Suarez from Liverpool.
But FIFA has announced that the appeal had failed and insisted the Spanish side would not be able to make any more signings until January 2016.
However, Barca have vowed to continue the fight and will now take their case to CAS – the highest sporting legal court.
