Schalke Says Inspirational Draxler Is ”Not Interested In Bayern”
- Updated: February 5, 2014
Schalke have dismissed speculations that Arsenal target Julian Draxler is aiming to join European champions, Bayern Munich.
Club chairman Clemens Tonnies, who turned down a big bid from an unnamed team this winter, hopes to keep the Germany midfielder, 20, for at least another year.
But he says Draxler can go if Schalke’s £38m asking price is met.
“We know we’re not going to be able to keep Julian at Schalke forever,” Tonnies said.
“It would do Draxler good to spend another year or two with us,” said Tonnies. “But if another club comes in for him, then we cannot block them. That would be unfair.” Tonnies said.
