Sagna To Sign £140k-a-week City Deal Before Joining France World Cup Team
- Updated: May 20, 2014

Bacary Sagna will put pen to paper on a £140,000-a-week deal with Manchester City after completing a medical with the new champions.
The Arsenal right-back has agreed a three-year deal and will sign before joining up with France for the World Cup.
City’s rivals Manchester United are believed to have offered the 31-year-old free agent £1m more a season, but he only wanted Champions League football.
Sagna was waiting for FA Cup winners Arsenal to possibly improve their terms for him to stay at the Emirates, but they did not want to budge on their final offer of £80,000-a-week for two years.
Meanwhile, Everton will make another move for Jack Rodwell this summer to end his City nightmare.
The Toffees tried to land their former star on loan in January and came close to a deal before City’s failure to sign Porto midfielder Fernando on deadline day scuppered the move.
However, Goodison boss Roberto Martinez remains a keen admirer of the England midfielder and will now look to secure a permanent deal.
Rodwell left Everton for City in 2012, but he has made just 26 appearances in two years at the Etihad Stadium and is not rated by current boss Manuel Pellegrini
