Ramsey Sees Red as Arsenal Forced a Draw Against Besiktas
- Updated: August 20, 2014

Aaron Ramsey saw red as Arsenal hung on for a goalless draw in EUFA Champions League play-off in Istanbul Tuesday night.
The Wales midfielder got his marching orders in the 80th minute after collecting two yellow cards against Besiktas.
But the Gunners kept their composure and almost snatched a dramatic late win when sub Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain cut through the home defence only to see his goal-bound shot tipped on to the post by keeper Tolga Zengin.
The effort summed up a match of plenty of chances, with the first coming straight from the kick off.
And it almost saw Arsenal get off to a nightmare start when Demba Ba fired in a shot that Wojciech Szczesny just managed to tip on to the bar.
The Polish keeper then had to produce another excellent save to deny the former Chelsea striker minutes later.
Arsene Wenger’s side will be confident of finishing the job at the Emirates next Wednesday and booking their place in the group stages.
