Nigeria International Sets To Join Italian Giants
- Updated: April 13, 2014

John Obi Mikel’s days as Chelsea player are now numbered as Inter Milan are closing in on the midfielder.
The London Evening Standard says Inter have stepped up their efforts to sign Obi Mikel this summer in a deal worth in excess of £10million.
The Nigeria international has been at the club for eight years having been signed from Lyn Oslo during Jose Mourinho’s first spell.
But Mikel has fallen out of favour since the turn of the year, starting just two League games, and has not been in the starting line-up since the FA Cup fifth-round defeat by Manchester City.
Mikel, a key member of the Super Eagles team to this year’s FIFA World Cup in Brazil is expected to finalise his transfer to the Italian side before the global tournament.
