Man City, Everton, Tottenham Battle For Emenike’s Signature
- Updated: May 18, 2014

Super Eagles World Cup reliable Emmanuel Emenike is a subject of controversy among top Premier League clubs as champions Manchester City, Everton and Tottenham are locked in a battle for the Fenerbahce striker.
The 27-year-old, who has previously been linked with Liverpool and Chelsea has demonstrated just why such big clubs were after him this term, scoring 12 goals and providing nine assists in 28 games.
Emenike was closely watched by Liverpool and Chelsea when he was at Spartak Moscow, but he opted to rejoin Fenerbahce at the start of the season.
While Liverpool and Chelsea’s interest is thought to have dwindled, City, Everton and Tottenham have stepped into the breach.
Reports in Turkey suggest that while several clubs have sent scouts to watch Emenike in action recently, City, Everton and Spurs have all gone a step further by making enquiries about the player.
Everton, in particular, are thought to be eyeing Emenike as something of a back-up plan if they can’t retain the services of Chelsea loanee Romelu Lukaku or lure Wilfried Bony away from Swansea.
Reports suggest that Emenike could be available for a fee in the region of £10m.
The striker has been named in Nigeria’s World Cup squad and is expected to lead the line for the Super Eagles after scoring 10 goals in 21 appearances for his country.
