Luke Shaw is Set to Miss First Four Weeks of the season
- Updated: August 14, 2014

Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw has been ruled out for four weeks with a hamstring injury.
This came after Louis van Gaal openly criticised the former Southampton defender’s fitness, claiming that the 19-year-old returned from World Cup duty out-of-shape.
“I think he needs to be fit and he is not very fit, therefore he can’t perform what I want,” said the Dutchman.
“He has to be fit first and to train individually.”
This means that Shaw will likely miss United’s opening three Premier League fixtures against Swansea, Sunderland and Burnley.
With the Old Trafford side lacking in depth at the left-back position following the departure of Patrice Evra earlier this summer, the club have been linked with moves for Sporting’s Argentina defender Marcos Rojo and Ajax’s Daley Blind.
