Liverpool Star Tells England Friends ”I’ll Be Ready To Face You In Brazil”

Luis Suarez has warned England he will be fit to face them in the World Cup.

Suarez has spoken to some of his Liverpool team-mates in the Three Lions squad to tell them he is winning his injury battle.

The Uruguay striker feared he would be knocked-out for the tournament in Brazil after breaking down in training with a knee problem last week.

The Reds superstar was forced to have surgery, which cast serious doubt on his fitness ahead of the finals.

Uruguay will face England in Sao Paulo on June 19 in what promises to be a crucial Group D showdown.

If Suarez was ruled out of that match it would massively boost Roy Hodgson’s hopes of steering his side into the knockout stage.

But it emerged last night the Liverpool striker has been in touch with some of his close friends in the England camp to tell them the news the Three Lions were dreading.

Suarez scored 31 goals last season to come within a whisker of firing Brendan Rodgers’s men to their first ever Premier League title.

He will represent the biggest threat to England’s chances of beating the Uruguayans next month en-route to the last 16 stage.

And defender Phil Jagielka admits Hodgson’s men are planning for the game against the South Americans expecting Suarez to be involved.

The Everton centre back said: “We will have to prepare as if he does make it.

“I am sure they have not qualified just because of what Luis Suarez has done, but to the same extent he can make a massive difference.

Suarez has already returned to light training ahead of Uruguay’s first group game against Costa Rica on June 14 and team doctor Alberto Pan said: “We can happily say that Luis’ participation in the World Cup is not ruled out.
