”I Feel At Home In England” Yobo

Fenerbahce defender Joseph Yobo has admitted he would be interested in a permanent move to Norwich this summer.

The former Everton player, currently on a season-long loan from Fenerbahce, believes his future in Turkey is uncertain and he expects to hold talks with his parent club at the end of the season.

The 33-year-old centre-half, has a year left on his contract at Fenerbahce, where he has made 32 appearances since joining from Everton in 2012, but he has featured just seven times for the Canaries this term.

“I am taking one day at a time and am hopefully going to review the situation at the end of the season,” he said on Thursday.

“You never know [about a permanent move] because everything in football is possible. I am happy at Norwich. It feels like home. The only thing missing is my family, otherwise I am settled.

“But I can’t make a decision because I am contracted to Fenerbahce in Turkey. The most important thing is Norwich staying up and pushing up the league and other things will follow after that.”

Chris Hughton’s side sit 13th in the Premier League table and eight points clear of the drop zone after last weekend’s 2-0 win over Sunderland.

Norwich face another vital game in the pursuit of safety on Saturday when they travel to fellow strugglers Swansea, and Yobo said: “We are fighting so every game is important.

“When we want it more, we always get it at home so now we have to take that to the away games as well. We have not really played badly away from home, so if we can believe in ourselves.”
