Barcelona ‘Plot Eden Hazard Transfer’ if Luis Suarez Decides to Stay at Liverpool
- Updated: June 24, 2014

New Barca boss Luis Enrique is determined to make his mark at the Nou Camp and reports suggest he was preparing a world record bid – including Alexis Sanchez – for the Liverpool striker.
However, Brendan Rodgers insists he has no intention of parting with his star man as his side get set for a crack at the Champions League.
That has led to Barca bosses exploring other options, including Robin van Persie, Sergio Aguero and Marco Reus.
But according to the Express and the Daily Star, each of those players is out of their reach and they are set to turn their attentions to Hazard.
The Belgian enjoyed an outstanding campaign for Chelsea last season, ending with him being crowned the PFA Young Player of the Year.
However, his relationship with boss Jose Mourinho is particularly frosty after the Portuguese publicly criticised his winger after the Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid.
Paris Saint Germain were monitoring the situation but were warned Hazard wasn’t for sale and Laurent Blanc insisted he had given up on trying to sign him.
It appears unlikely Chelsea’s stance would have changed but should the planned move for Suarez fail, Barca could be prepared to pay over the odds for the Belgian.
