Anichebe Rescues Point For West Brom After Toure’s Error
- Updated: February 2, 2014

Liverpool’s hopes of securing a place in the premier league top four has suffered yet another set back after Victor Anichebe’s goal prevented the Reds from claiming maximum three point against West Brom Sunday.
Another Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge combination produced the visitors’ first goal in the 21st minute, when Sturridge tapped in a cross from the Uruguay international.
The Baggies equalised through Nigerian international Victor Anichebe, who drilled in Kolo Toure’s poor pass three minutes after he came in as a sub.
With this results, Liverpool are now six points behind Manchester City, who are top of the table with a match in hand.
Meanwhile, Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has refused to blame Toure for the error that led to West Brom’s equaliser.
”Kolo Toure has been really brilliant for me. He’s a great professional, but unfortunately it was a mistake. But there’s no blame for me.” Rodgers said.
