Uruguay Beat Cameroon In World Cup Preparation

One of Africa’s representatives to the FIFA World Cup in Brazil Cameroon, were handed a wake-up call ahead after succumbing to a 2-1 defeat to Paraguay in an international friendly Thursday.
Thursday’s match in Austria was the first of three warm-up games for the former African champions before the global tournament, which starts next month.
However, the Indomitable Lions, who missed a late penalty, were left in no doubt as to the difficulty they will face in South America, as goals in each half from Oscar Romero and Roque Santa Cruz ensured victory for Paraguay, while Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting scored Cameroon’s consolation goal.
There was late drama when Cameroon were awarded a spot-kick, but Mohammadou Idrissou fluffed his lines from 12 yards.
