Brendan Rodgers Keen On City’s Utility Player
- Updated: May 3, 2014
Manchester City’s defender, Micah Richards is a £7million summer transfer target for Liverpool.
The 25 year old is likely to be allowed to leave the Etihad after deciding not to take up a new five-year deal.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers believes Richards would be perfect for his squad as he can play right-back and centre-half, and only has one year left on his contract.
The England star hopes that a fresh start will reignite his career and Liverpool are keen to extend their squad for the Champions League next season.
The only stumbling block is whether City will sell Richards to a rival – and there is also interest from AC Milan and Tottenham.
Sevilla are keen on signing Liverpool’s Moroccan winger Oussama Assaidi, 25, for £2m. He has been loaned to Stoke this term, but has suffered a knee injury.
