Niger republic football house has named its final list of 23 players
for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) to be held in South
Africa from January 19.
The team will be led by skipper Moussa Maazou who turns out for
Tunisian powerhouse Etoile du Sahel.
Three players who had been in the provisional list dropped are
Mohammed Wonkoye of Asec Mimosas, Idi Sabiou of Akokona and
Ibrahim Benjamin of AS Garde Nationale
Defender Koffi Dankowa who turns out for Esperance in Tunisia as
well as Amadou Mountari of French Ligue 2 side Le Mans are part
of the team.
Niger is pooled in Group ‘B’ together with Ghana, Mali and DR
Congo
The final list include: Goalkeepers: Daouda Kassaly (Chippa
United/South Africa), Saminou Rabo (Sahel SC), Moussa Alzouma
(AS Garde Nationale).
Defenders: Mohammed Chicoto (AS Marsa/Tunisia), Koffi Dankowa
(Esperance Zarzis/Tunisia), Mohamed Soumaila (Olympic Niamey),
Mohamed Bachar (AS Douane), Kourouma Fatogoma (Chabab/
Morocco), Lucky James (AS Douane), Ismael Alassane, Kader
Amadou (Olympic Niamey).
Midfielders: Karim Konaté (without club), Idrissa Laouali
(Mangasport/Gabon), Issiakou Koudizé (AS Garde Nationale),
Babacar Talatou (AmaZulu/South Africa), Williams N’Gonou (LB
07/Sweden), Souleymane Sakou (Olympic Niamey), Amadou
Mountari (Le Mans/France), Issoufou Boubacar (without club)
Strikers: Moussa Maazou (Etoile du Sahel/Tunisia), Kamilou
Daouda (JS Saoura/Algeria), Modibo Sidibé (without club), Issoufou
Danté (Wydad Fès/Morocco).
