Evil Genius!

____________________________________
Just this (May 4, 2011) afternoon a former (retired) Assistant Commissioner
of Police who is a chieftain of ACN was shot dead by hired assassins on
Udo Umana Street in Uyo Akwa Ibom State.

This led me to remember that I woke up Sunday May 1, 2011 to read in
many newspapers a full page advertisement authored by the now former
ACN Akwa Ibom State Chairman, Chief Aniekan Akpan condemning the
Press Conference (where himself was present) addressed by his party to the
effect that the governorship election was heavily rigged by the PDP.

The public should expect more of such sponsored advertisements by
desperate administration. Very soon association of ‘local’ and ‘foreign’
election observers would take their turn.

It will be recalled that the ECOWAS monitoring group led by the former
interim President of Liberian government, Amos Sawyer, as reported in Daily
Trust and NEXT newspapers attested that in some areas of Akwa Ibom and
Delta States their movements were restricted and voting went on in secrecy.
.
I fear for Chief Aniekan Akpan who blindly and greedily accepted to play the
spoiler.  Akpan, it would be recalled during the March 22 mayhem in Uyo
boldly put up various advertisements which in fact affirmed that the mayhem
was perpetrated by PDP hoodlums.

He also confirmed that Akpabio instigated a ‘law’ that no other political party
other than PDP must be allowed to campaign in Annang land and that gave
rise to attack by PDP supporters on ACN campaign convoy on its way to
Ikot Ekpene, resulting in deaths. He hinted on what is now gaining mor
grounds that the Uyo mayhem was an opportunity used by PDP supporters
to set ablaze the vehicles parked at the fortified State Secretariat that has
military/police security. The incident resulted in the inability of ACN to
complete their campaign even in Eket Senatorial District as further trap was
laid for another mayhem destined to be heaped on the ACN. It will be
recalled that the no-campaign-area order also affected ANPP members who
tried campaigning in Essien Udim, Akpabio’s home LGA.

Mr. Akpan undoubtedly is aware that the government here values not life and
may still be looking for more bad incidents to hand on ACN leadership. It will
be recalled that an old woman, mother of the banished Engineer Udonwa
who aspired to challenge Akpabio in the PDP primary was murdered after 45
days in kidnappers den and the government volunteered no comment or
sympathy.

Therefore, since Akpan has compromised by receiving mouth-watering
amount from Akpabio, he should realize that his life is not secured and
should pray that he was not sacrificed in order to heap such on the ACN
leadership. Judas was able to live and hanged himself but Akpan who has
gone underground may have himself to blame, even in the grave.

Chief Okon Nseobong Akpan, Ndoneyo, Onna LGA, Akwa Ibom State.
