Rivers State Commissioner for Sports, Hon. Fred Igwe
has called on Chairmen of Local Government Councils in
the State to follow the giant strides of Governor,
Chibuike Amaechi by constructing community sports
centre in their areas.

Hon. Igwe said when Local Government Areas take on
the development of specific sports facilities and
manpower, especially in areas they have comparative
advantage, the State would maintain its winning strides
for a long time at National Sports Festivals.

The Commissioner said such facilities would further
engage youths and create job opportunities in the State.

According to him, such improvement would benefit the
State and its citizens would be effectively represented in
the country and in International events.

He said all sports facilities under construction across the
State would soon be completed.
